David Nicholls worked for Burnham Yacht Harbour for 17 years as their Senior Rigger and was trained at Seldon Masts, England in the repair and sales (marketing) of new and used mast equipment and manufacture.

He launched DRS Rigging Ltd  in 2003. The aim was to supply the yachting industry with quality stainless steel standing and running rigging at competitive prices.
